First, I’m an older guy, 70 to be specific. I’m a stationary bicycle-rider at my local gym, I also attend several ‘BodyPump’ classes every week. My exercise agenda has allowed me to participate in a more vigorous lifestyle; and I became involved in “motorcycling” about four years ago.

For a long time previous, I enjoyed long-distance bicycle riding. I’ve peddled my bike across Iowa nine times, (500 miles, plus the training it takes to be able to do that), and have ridden in a number of other long-distance bike events over the years. I finally reached a point where I didn’t want to do it anymore. What I wanted to do was ride a bicycle with a motor on it. If you think about it, that’s what a ‘motorcycle’ really is… a bicycle with a motor.

And ride I have, (and do…) – I currently have six bikes, probably too many, but they have become ‘friends of mine’, almost like a horse stable. My favorite is a 2005 BMW Dakar, it fits me and my ‘riding-style’ well.

My blog is literally about “motorcycle thoughts and meanderings”. I hope you enjoy reading it.
